Hello everyone. I wanted you all to know that I haven't forgotten about you. I'm so sorry the site has gone so long without any updates. I hope you aren't feeling neglected--I have several new pieces for you in varying stages of production, but unfortunately production on each of them has temporarilly stopped.
I've been forced to hold my personal work on the back burner for a while. I've been hired by a videogame company called Rebel Monkey, and they are willing to pay me to make art for them.
This doesn't mean there won't be any new material on JoeWierenga.com--that is a promise and a guarentee. It only means that the new material is going to take a bit longer to produce.

Great googly moogly! It turns out getting your entire life turned on its head will take a lot more out of you than you'd think! How long has it been since I graduated now--two months? How is that possible!
I'm almost back on the saddle now, I think. I've got my internets all set, I've got my electricity paid up, I've got a fan to ward off the summer heat and I'm fixin' to make me some art! Oh but wait: rent is due. Hrmph.
On the upswing, I am now one of the cardinal members of Gentlemen Studios! A delightfully genteel collective of artists acting in a manner befitting a gentleman. Or maybe there are strippers, we haven't decided yet. Hey! Check out the other members, Geoff Glisson and Jeff Gesau (who doesn't have a website because he's a sculptor).
One last thing before I go. I don't know if you guys noticed or not, but look! The site is blue now! And the box stays in the middle of your screen no matter how you resize the window! Isn't that cool? All of the old work is gone now too; this site is all grown up and ready for the world. I will miss the monkeys, but look at these nifty scroll boxes! I think it's a fair trade. I would like to apologize to any web afficionados for all the target="_blank" tags in the galleries. I just couldn't think of a better way. I'm sorry for polluting the Internet with new browser windows, I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.
I'm a New Yorker now, I have places to be! See you all soon
